M.Tech in India is a 2-year post-graduation technical course that can be pursued mainly in engineering/science disciplines. M.Tech Course is also known as ME in some institutes. Full form of M.Tech is “Master of Technology” and The full form of M.E. is “Master of Engineering”.

M.Tech is a post-graduation course of 2-year duration, divided into 4 semesters. It is a technical course which can be done after B.Tech / M.Sc/ M.C.A. Although B.Tech course is a job-oriented course in itself, but M.Tech is a great course option for candidates who wish to pursue higher technical education in the field of Engineering/Science. M.Tech course is a compulsory course mainly for the candidates interested in becoming a teacher or doing research work in the field of engineering and this course also opens doors for some other career options.
If you are interested in doing M.tech course, then you should have an undergraduate degree in science subjects. Candidates must have passed Bachelor Degree or BE / B.Tech / like course with 50% marks. To do M.Tech, it is mandatory for the candidates to pass in the entrance exams.
There are some government colleges in India that allow direct admission to students under management quota without entrance exam, but direct admission is based on your 12th and Bachelor's degree marks. For direct admission, you must have passed the undergraduate course with 50% marks in aggregate.
Apathy from it, to take admission in M.Tech, you have to give entrance exam in the college of your choice, if you clear the entrance exam with good marks, then you can easily get admission in M.Tech colleges.
