M.Lib or M.Lib.I.Sc. (Master of Library and Information Science) is a postgraduate course, which involves advanced study of the principles and practices of in this course, the students are taught the insights of IT science and library management skills.
It includes the study of subjects like Planning and Management, Library Management, Research Methodology, Computer Basics and Applications, Statistical Techniques and alike. It is a 1-year postgraduate course, although some institutes offer it as a 2-year education program as well.
M.LIB.I.SC Eligibility Criteria
50%-60% marks in aggregate in Bachelor's degree
Bachelor in Library Science (B.Lib.)
Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLI Sc.)
Age Limit: 20-22 years
M.LIB.I.SC Admission Process
Many colleges and universities give admission on the basis of entrance, and some collegestake admission on the basis of 12th or bachelor degree marks.In the entrance exam, you have to appear in the entrance exam conducted by the college. If you pass the exam then you can get admission in the college of your choice.
Merit-Based Admission Most of the colleges that offer Master of Library and Information Science do not conduct entrance tests for admission. These offer admission on the basis of marks obtained in graduation. Also there are many colleges which offer direct admission to the courses, however, the eligibility criteria for direct admission varies for each college. So, a candidate must always analyse the criteria before going through the tough admission process.
