Engineering is one of the most preferred courses in the world. Engineering diplomas have become a ubiquitous field, especially in the era of robotics and automation. An engineer is essentially responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing and maintaining systems that monitor parameters to ensure control of processes. The demand for engineering diplomas has grown exponentially over the years as a large number of
industries employ them. Pursuing an engineering diploma opens up a variety of job opportunities that a student can do after engineering diploma. If you want to choose a good career option after 12th, then you should consider engineering diploma.

Engineering Diploma is a professional course with a total duration of 3 years. Candidates who have passed class 10th or 12th can apply for admission to Diploma in Engineering. After completing the degree in Diploma, candidates can go for B.Tech which collectively takes them 6 years to complete their engineering (3 years Diploma + 3 years B.Tech).
Through Diploma in Engineering, candidates can go for a specific stream of engineering. In which the candidates are provided with theoretical and practical knowledge about basic mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science and other related subjects.
Due to high course fee, students are not able to enrol themselves in Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology, so through Diploma, students can get direct admission in second year of B.Tech and BE program through lateral scheme.
Engineering Diploma course requires that the candidate must have passed 10th class with Science stream PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) with 50% marks from a recognized board. It is mandatory for the applicant to have more than 50% result in Intermediate.
Some colleges conduct their own entrance exams for engineering diploma courses in India. (Like UPSEE, MHT CET, and JEE, etc.) On the basis of which the students are selected.
If you want to apply in university of your choice then you have to fulfil the application criteria of that university. Also if admission is based on entrance exams then first register for entrance exam and then wait for counseling after result. You will be selected on the basis of marks in the entrance test and a list will be issued.
