What is BHM Course?

BHM or Bachelor of Hotel Management is an undergraduate course. Its duration is three years which is divided into a total of six semesters. Each semester is conducted by the college at an interval of every six months. Candidates studying in this would have to do 10+2 or any equivalent course.

In most of the colleges and universities offering BHM, admission in the course is taken mainly through the entrance exam, although admission is also available in private colleges on the basis of direct and merit. In addition to this, the facility of lateral admission is also available.

In this course, students are provided with detailed knowledge about the subjects of Hotel Engineering, Food Production, Front Office Operations, Accommodation Operation, Facility Planning, Food Safety and Quality, Strategic Management, Financial Management, Communication, Computer Application, etc.

How to get Admission to BHM Course?

If you want to do BHM course then you can take admission in two ways, first of all, you can take admission through the entrance examination conducted by the college or on the basis of the highest marks of 12th. You can apply online or offline for this course.

If you want to take admission in BHM course through the entrance examination conducted by the college, then you have to pass the entrance examination with good marks only then you will get admission on the basis of entrance examination basis, besides if you want to take admission on the basis of merit. So you have to take the highest marks in class 12th because most of the colleges prepare merit lists based on the highest marks of class 12th. According to that list, students are given admission.

What are the Eligibility Conditions to do BHM Course?

  1. For the student who is willing to do BHM course, first of all that candidate has to pass 12th class from any recognized board.
  2. Must have at least 50% to 60% marks in class 12th. 
  3. To do BHM course, your age should be between 17 years to 22 years.
  4. There is an age relaxation of 2-3 years for SC and ST candidates.
  5. You can take admission in this course through an entrance test or merit based.
