Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences was established in the year 1982. It is the largest medical institution in the Indian Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. Approved by the Medical Council of India, the institute provides various UG, PG, Doctoral, Post-Doctoral, and Diploma courses across various domains of Nursing and Medical Sciences. Admission to its courses is based on the rank secured by the candidate in the entrance exams. The institute is also running a hospital known as SKIMS Hospital which strives to be the leader in providing quality services to the people.
